Svelte consists of freelance designer; Steve Welch and a little dog named Kevin who enjoys a fried breakfast and wearing wooly jumpers. We work from our home office doing all sorts of creative things for our nice clients.
I spent 5 years as a Senior Designer for a top London design agency -helping them win awards along the way- working for the likes of the BBC, British Airways and lots of other Big Wigs. However the call of the Essex countryside was too great, and so I set up as a freelancer way back in the Winter of 2007.
There are many reasons why you might choose a freelancer over an agency, the biggest being cost. With no huge studio rent or a team of account managers, creative directors, juniors and receptionists to pay, my overheads are considerably less which means you pay less for my services.
You also know that it will be me working on your project. A design agency might have a lovely portfolio but if you have the junior designer on your project then the standards might not be as high. All the work in my portfolio is designed and crafted by myself.
When you pick up the phone or email me, it won't be directed through an account manager; I'll be there at the brief, I'll present the initial ideas, I'll design and create the artwork and I'll let you know when it's all done, on time and on budget!
